Wherever Dr. Gulrag goes, the whisky is excellent and the body count is rising. Scotland's most unlikely detective isn't looking for trouble — he's on a quest to visit and write a book on all of Scotland's whisky distilleries. Each time he visits a one a murder takes place there or in the neighbouring village. He and his oddball colleagues/ friends inevitably help solve the case.

Spirit Bay

After twenty years in exile, cold-case detective Johnathan Storey returns to Spirit Bay — a deceptively idyllic, pastel-coloured coastal village on Vancouver Island — with his wife and daughter.
